India, June 20, 2025 – In a significant leap forward for India’s digital infrastructure, Delaplex Limited (Delaplex), a global business technology consultancy and services firm, has partnered with Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) to launch the country’s first Integrated Micro Data Center (MDC) services, debuting in Hyderabad, Telangana.
The launch marks a strategic move toward distributed, edge-based computing, aimed at enhancing data accessibility, compliance, and speed in high-growth sectors like healthcare, retail, logistics, and government services.
Public – Private Partnership with National Implications
The national-level inauguration served as a powerful testament to the importance of public–private collaboration in advancing India’s digital infrastructure. It marked a technological breakthrough in edge computing, reinforcing the country’s readiness to embrace decentralized, high-performance digital solutions.
The event was attended by Mr. Nitin Sachdeva, President and Managing Director of Delaplex, and BSNL officials, Shri A. Robert J. Ravi ITS, Chairman and Managing Director of BSNL, along with Mr. D.M. A First Step Towards Decentralized Digital Infrastructure
The MDC serves as a proof-of-concept for a nationwide rollout strategy. The initiative is built on a revenue-sharing model with BSNL, designed to be both commercially viable and nationally scalable. The facilities will enable low-latency, high-security data processing in regions previously underserved by traditional data infrastructure.
By embedding compute power closer to end users, MDCs reduce dependency on centralized cloud data centers while supporting compliance, sovereignty, and local uptime, a priority as India tightens its data governance frameworks. Looking ahead, Delaplex and BSNL are working to expand these services by deploying MDCs across BSNL centers nationwide, amplifying edge infrastructure at scale and reinforcing India’s digital backbone.
Redefining Data Access for High-Growth Sectors
From AI-driven retail and predictive healthcare to compliance-heavy BFSI environments, localized MDCs promise to unlock new possibilities for real-time decision-making. These micro facilities will support everything from IoT-based logistics to e-governance systems and hyperlocal service delivery.
Crucially, the MDC model aligns with India’s “Atmanirbhar Bharat” (Self-Reliant India) initiative by reducing dependency on global cloud hubs and fostering regional tech ecosystems.
